The first release of Pinot Noir form our close planted 'One by One' block

The Vineyard

Planted in a Metre by Metre (One by One) high density spacing (39 inches), with each row being a metre wide and each vine a metre apart down the row.

The higher density of vines boosts the number of roots creating competition for nutrients and water thus forcing them to expand their root structure. This competition makes the vines work, helping to control vigour by triggering them to divert and direct the energies of the vine to the grapes rather then to excess leaves and canopy production. Typically, this produces fewer bunches per plant, improving the quality of the fruit and the complexity with greater concentration of aromas, flavours and phenolic compounds. This then plays a massive part in the overall intensity and flavour profiles of the resulting wine.
